Musician Worth enlisted in Company D of the 7th Indiana Infantry in April of 1861 and served there unit he mustered out just before mustering into the 19th Indiana. He would muster out of the 19th in the late summer of 1862 when the band was disbanded. On April 21st, 1863 he was mustered into Company H of the 11th Indiana Infantry where he would serve until the end of the war mustering out on July 26th, 1865 while in Baltimore Maryland.
He filed for a pension in January 1890 and was a member of the Virgil H. Lyons GAR post in Plainfield Indiana.
