James Sargent

Mustered into service as a Private on July 29th, 1861

Private Sargent was discharged soon after arriving in Washington D.C. in the late summer of 1861. He left the 19th Indiana on November 25th because of rheumatism while at Fort Craig.

 

On May 18th, 1864 he joined Company H of the 132nd Indiana Infantry. This was a 100 days regiment and he served until his term was over.

 

James filed for a pension in April of 1887.
