A visit to the cemetery in the summer of 2011 Jim and Deanna Peterson discovered that William Redpath is currently in a unmarked grave.

Private Redpath was wounded at the 2nd Battle of Bull Run on August 30th, 1862 and again at the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1st, 1863. He would muster out of the service in July of 1864. On October 27th, 1864 William joined Company B of the 42nd Indiana Infantry as a substitute serving there until his muster out on July 21st, 1865.

William filed for a pension in January of 1874.
