John C. Rardin
Mustered into service as a Sergeant on July 29th, 1861

Sergeant Rardin was wounded at the Battle of South Mountain on September 14th, 1862 and was discharged because of that wound in February of 1863. On December 10th of that same year he enlisted in Company B of the 9th Indiana Calvary where he served until his muster out as a Captain on August 28th, 1865.
John was also a veteran of the Mexican War.
He filed for a pension in April of 1870.
