Michael Morris

Mustered into service as a Private on July 29th, 1861

 

 

 

Private Morris was wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1st, 1863 and again at the Battle of Petersburg on June 18th, 1864. He mustered out of the service in July then in November he mustered in as a private in Company A of the 43rd Indiana Infantry. He served there until the regiment mustered out on June 15th, 1865.

 

He filed for a pension in October of 1867.

 

His wife Mary filed for a widows pension in September of 1871 indicating that Michael died sometime before that date.
