William Marshall

Mustered into service as a Private on July 29th, 1861

Died 02 December 1863

Private Marshall suffered from remittent fever soon after he arrived in Washington D.C. with the regiment. On the 15th day of June 1863 William again became sick and was eventually sent to Indianapolis Indiana to recover. He died there of chronic diarrhea while in the hospital.

 

Williams brother Henry also served in Company C as a recruit. He also died in the war. Their widowed mother Sarah was forced to file for a mothers pension in February of 1864.
