Private Kaiser was slightly wounded at the Battle of Brawner Farm on August 28th, 1862. He was promoted to Corporal on November 1st, 1862 then to Sergeant on May 1st, 1863. At the Battle of Gettysburg he was again wounded and was absent from the regiment until late 1863. He was killed at the Battle of the Wilderness on May 5th, 1864 and his body was never identified for burial.
