John Kizer

Mustered into service as a Private on July 29th, 1861

Private Kizer was discharged for disability soon after arriving in Washington D.C. in the fall of 1861. By March of 1862 he filed for a pension and started to receive benefits. In July of 1890 Johns wife Angeline filed for a widows pension while living in Louisville Kentucky. This would indicate that John died sometime before that date. Angeline died on December 3rd, 1916 and is buried a the Cave Hill cemetery located in Louisville Kentucky. The burial location for John Kizer is unknown.
