David S. Holloway
Mustered into service as a Private on July 29th, 1861

Buried Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Rush County Indiana
Private Holloway quickly rose to the rank of Captain by the end of 1862. He received a gunshot wound to the hip and right knee at the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1st, 1863. David would muster out of the service on July 28th, 1864.
He filed for a pension in March of 1873.
After surviving some of the hardest fought battles in the war he died from the result of a farming accident in 1887.
