Nathan B. Hawkey

Mustered into service as a Private on February 18th, 1862

 

Nathan spent many years after the war living in Indianapolis Indiana with his wife Maranda. His occupation at that time was bricklayer. By 1885 he was living in Chicago.

 

A Nathan B. Hawkey died in Chicago on December 21st, 1890.

His widow Maranda filed for a widows pension on December 23rd, 1891 but was denied. On the application for the pension it states that Nathan had deserted on December 14th, 1862.

 

Currently his grave location is unknown.
