Private Frazee came down with a bad case of remittent fever soon after arriving in Washington D.C. in the fall of 1861. He would be discharged for disability on November 15th of that same year. He again joined the army as a Sergeant in Company H of the 100th Indiana Infantry. When he mustered out in June of 1865 he held the rank of Captain.
