George G. Flanagan was born in Marion County Indiana January 23, 1842 and died at the home of his son, Earl Flanagan, in Kokomo Indiana, February 16, 1923, having attained the age of 81 years and 23 days. He was a soldier in the Civil War, having enlisted in Company G, 19th Indiana Volunteers. After serving his country faithfully he returned to civil life and in 1866 he was married to Miss Mary Bartholomew, to which union seven children were born, three having preceded in father to their graves. The remaining four children are: Earl, with whom he made is home; Jesse, of Kokomo; William, of Arcadia; and Al, of Beach, North Dakota. After the death of Mrs. Susan Huston, in 1892, who passed away June 1, 1920, leaving eight children by a former marriage, two of them living in Kokomo, Louie Huston of North Bell Street, and Mrs. Anna French of South LaFountaine Street. The remaining children live out of the city. Mrs. Joe Watkins, 1014 West Lordemann Street, being a niece of the former.
