James W. Evans

Mustered into service as a Corporal on July 29th, 1861

Corporal Evans was diagnosed with remittent fever soon after arriving in Washington D.C. in the late summer of 1861. He would be discharged for disability on December 14th of that same year.

James never filed for a pension but his wife Lucinda filed for a widows pension in June of 1880. This would indicate that he died sometime before that date.

Unknown date of death or burial location.
