James M. Evans

Mustered into service as a Private on January 27th, 1864

Buried Riverside Cemetery, Owen County Indiana

Private Evans was wounded in the right thigh at the Battle of the Wilderness on May 5th, 1864. In the fall of 1864 he transferred to Company A of the 20th Indiana Infantry where he served until his muster out on July 12th, 1865 holding the rank of Corporal.

He filed for a pension in June of 1880.
