Warren Eltzroth
Mustered into service as a Private on July 29th, 1861
Private Eltzroth was diagnosed with a case of remittent fever soon after arriving in Washington D.C in the fall of 1861. He would be discharged from the service for disability on December 12th of that same year.
A Warren Eltzroth was mustered into Company D of the 57th Indiana Infantry on December 12th, 1862 and was killed in action at the Battle of Franklin Tennessee on November 30th, 1864. His burial location is unknown.
Company C of the 19th Indiana was recruited from the Winchester Indiana area. The Warren Eltzroth who was in the 19th Indiana was from Winchester as was the Warren Eltzroth of the 57th Indiana. With such an unusual name it is very likely that this is the same person.
