Dunn, John C.

Private Dunn was promoted to Corporal in the spring of 1863. He was wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1st, 1863.

John spent time in the hospital in Philadelphia and eventually would serve in the Army post office in the summer of 1864. By the fall of 1864 the ranks of the 19th Indiana were so depleted from combat casualties and sickness they were folded into the 20th Indiana Infantry. John was put into Company I of that regiment were he served until his muster out on July 18th, 1865.

He filed for a pension in October of 1887.
