Adam Day

Mustered into service as a Private on July 29th, 1861

Private Day was diagnosed with a case of remittent fever soon after arriving in Washington D.C. in the fall of 1861. He would be discharged for disability soon after.

In 1939 the Indiana American Legion and the Works Project Administration documented many of the veterans buried in Indiana. Their file says that Adam Day is buried in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery located in Delaware County Indiana. A search of this cemetery revealed no headstone for Adam so he is probably buried in a unmarked grave. However the American Legion burial records have on a few occasions been found to be incorrect. Because of this it can not be said for certain that Adam is buried in this cemetery.
