Private Darragh was captured on June 6th, 1864 near Shady Grove Virginia and sent to Andersonville Prison in Georgia. He was paroled on February 27th, 1865.

He was probably buried in the locale cemetery in Lawrenceburg Indiana that was located near the Ohio River. Because of frequent flooding the cemetery was moved to the Greendale Cemetery located farther inland. Gillett might be in a unmarked grave in the new cemetery.
