Nicholas Wise

Mustered into service as a Private on February 10th, 1864

Private Wise was wounded in the left hip and back during the fighting on May 23rd,1864 near North Anna Virginia. In the fall of that year he was transferred to Company A of the 20th Indiana Infantry where he served until his muster out on July 12th, 1865.

After coming back to Indiana after the war Nicholas moved to Sidney Ohio where he parents lived. He soon died from the effects of his wounds.

He is in a unmarked grave.
