Sergeant Julius Voit was quickly promoted to 2nd Lieutenant of Company A but resigned his commission on December 18th, 1862. On March 11th, 1864 Julius again joined the Army. This time he enlisted as a Private in the 1st Indiana Light Artillery Battery and mustered out of the service on August 22nd, 1865 in Indianapolis Indiana.
He received a pension after the war.
