Samuel B. Schlagle

1st Sergeant Schlagle was wounded in the leg at the Battle of Brawner Farm on August 28th, 1862 and again in both thighs at the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1st, 1863. During the fight at Gettysburg Samuel was 1st Lieutenant of Company B. After being wounded on July 1st he remained on the battlefield for four days until help arrived. Samuel  returned  home later that year and would leave  the 19th Indiana in October. He never regained his health and died of consumtion.
