Josiah Saucer

Mustered into service as a Private on July 29th, 1861

 

Private Saucer was discharged for disability on July 15th, 1862.

 

On August 25th, 1863 a man named Josiah Saucer of Delaware County Indiana joined Company C of the 118th Indiana Infantry as a Corporal. He served there until his muster out on March 1st, 1864.

 

On March 26th, 1864 a person again named Josiah Saucer joined Company K of the 9th Indiana Cavalry. This man was killed in action on September 25th, 1864 at the Battle of Sulphur Creek Trestle in Alabama.

 

It is very possible that this man is one and the same.
