Mustered into service as a Private on July 29th, 1861

Private Pierce mustered out of the 19th Indiana because of disability in November of 1861.

A Daniel G. Pierce from Wayne County Indiana joined Company C of the 57th Indiana on August 26th, 1862 and mustered out on February 18th, 1863. He then joined Company K of the 124th Indiana Infantry on December 16, 1863 serving there until his muster out on August 31, 1865.

On February 27th, 1892 a "minors" pension was filed for under Daniel's name but was denied benefits. This would indicate that he had died sometime before that date.

His actual date of death and burial location are unknown.
