Buried Florence National Cemetery, Florence Co. South Carolina
Based off of the widows pension filed by Margaret Knight the family descendants have come to the following conclusion with Private Harrison Knight.

During a night march in June of 1864 in the Petersburg Virginia area Privates Harrison Knight and Louis Garrett became separated from the regiment and were captured. Both were sent to the Andersonville Prison in Georgia and then in the fall of 1864  transfered to the Florence Prison in Florence South Carolina.  It was here where Private Knight died of starvation and was buried at the prison. Private Garrett was eventually freed and sent back north but died in the hospital at Annapolis Maryland  on January 17th, 1865  where he is buried. Before he died he wrote a letter to his wife asking her to inform Harrison's  wife that he had died in the Florence Prison of starvation.

The exact location of Private Knights grave will probably never be known.

Because of conflicting reports his widow Margaret didn't receive her pension payments until 18 years after the death of her husband.
