Jefferson Kinder

Private Kinder was wounded at the Battle of Brawner Farm on August 28th, 1862 and was captured at the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1st, 1863. He was soon released and he rejoined the regiment. In the fall of 1864 he and the other surviving members of the 19th Indiana transferred to the 20th Indiana Infantry.  He had obtained the rank of Sergeant and was one of  just a handfull of men that  served from the very beginning to the very end of the war in Company B.

Jefferson Kinder received a pension in 1870.
