James M. Karnes

Private Karnes became sick soon after arriving in Washington D.C. in the fall of 1861. He would be discharged for disability on November 10th of that same year. On June 6th, 1862 James mustered into a 90 day regiment as a Private in Company F of the 55th Indiana Infantry. He would muster out on September 1st, 1862 while in Indianapolis Indiana.
