William A. Howren

Mustered into service as a Private November 23rd, 1861

Buried East Cemetery, Wayne County Indiana

 

Private Howren was holding the rank of Corporal when he was wounded in the arm, thigh and ankle at the Battle of Brawner Farm on August 28th, 1862. He was again wounded at the Battle of Laurel Hill Virginia on May 10th, 1864. William was later killed by a stray bullet while he was sleeping near Petersburg Virginia.
