Private Goodpasture was wounded at the Battle of Brawner Farm on August 28th, 1862 and was discharged from the service because of this wound in November of that same year.
Andrew had difficulty making a living after the war because of his war wound and died pennyless.
He filed for and started to receive a pension in 1863.
