Austin M. Foulk

Mustered into service as a Corporal on July 29th, 1861

Died 04 July 1867

Corporal Foulk is shown to have served in the regiment until July of 1864 when he apparently mustered out.

While at a fourth of July gathering in a park in Indianapolis in 1867 Austin Foulk got into an argument with another man named William McCaw. McCaw pulled a knife and stabbed Austin in the chest and he died immediately. William McCaw fled to Illinois until 1887 when he was found and returned to Indianapolis. He was given a trial but was found not guilty.

Austin was probably buried in the old city cemetery in Indianapolis Indiana.
