Private Thomas Fletcher transferred to Company I of the 20th Indiana Infantry in October of 1864 along with the other surviving members of the 19th Indiana. He served until the very end of the war mustering out on July 12th, 1865. He filed for and received a pension in 1890. Pvt. Fletcher was one of the youngest soldiers to serve in the 19th when he enlisted at the age of 15.
