Private Daniel Conrad was slightly wounded during the Siege of Petersburg Virginia in June of 1864. By the fall of 1864 the 19th Indiana was so understrength it was folded into the 20th Indiana Infantry and Private Conrad continued his service in Company E of that regiment. After the war he filed for and received a pension from the government.
